If you did not watch the first episode of “Lovecraft Country,” GET YO’ LIFE! This show is the ‘ish. Jurnee Smollett, Jonathan Majors and Courtney B. Vance are everything in this! And then to top it off, you got Misha Green (“Underground”), J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Star Trek,” “Westworld,” “Star Wars”) AND Jordan Peele (“Get Out,” “Us”) producing!
Everything is on point from the acting to the wardrobe to the cinematography and soundtrack (I love when they mix contemporary music with period pieces). And this is yet another timely show…there are imaginary/fantasy monsters but there are also “monsters” who walk amongst us. Which is scarier?! I can’t wait to see how this show unfolds…
“Lovecraft Country” comes on Sundays at 9pm ET on HBO and on HBOMax.
