Better late than never, right?!
Here’s what I watched last month:
- The majority of last month’s watches were “first-timers” (meaning my first time ever seeing it lol). There were only 3 “repeats.” Can you guess what they were?! lol
- Criterion Channel did a spotlight collection of Alain Delon‘s (who I really like…“Rocco and His Brothers” being my fave) work so I went through a couple of his films…and some tangential French classics.
- Also caught some of the online American Black Film Festival (ABFF)…the majority of which were shorts and weren’t on Letterboxd.
- I also caught up on some of the animated shorts that were nominated for last year’s Oscars.
- I also binged both seasons of “The Umbrella Academy”…I know, I know, I’m late to the game as usual.
- Also did a mini Chadwick Boseman film fest in his honor. RIP
So what do I recommend that I watched last month??? (in no particular order)
- “The Peanut Butter Falcon” (2019) — a touching film that I really enjoyed
- “Memorable” (2019) — Oscar-nominated French short that made me shed a 😢
- “Mr. Klein” (1976) — WWII thriller about a deadly “mistaken” identity
- “Project Power” (2020) — action-packed with a great cast
- “Elevator to the Gallows” (1958) — very good French crime thriller
