It was great to see Spike Lee back in rare form with a great movie based on the true story of Ron Stallworth. Casting was great with exceptional performances from Topher Grace, Adam Driver, Jasper Paakkonen and John David Washington. I am a huge fan of Blacklist so it was cool seeing Ryan Eggold in this as well. This was Spike at his best dealing with a timely societal issue with his classic mix of humor and seriousness. Although based on a true life story, Spike of course takes some creative liberties to turn this into a film needed to be seen by all demographics in today’s crazy and divided world while showing us that although there has been some progress, there’s still a ways to go to becoming the truly inclusive and tolerant land of liberty and freedom that America is supposed to be. Overall, this is a MUST WATCH film!
