I was unaware of the fact that The Predator was a straight up comedy SMH. I remember the first one having a few zingy jokes (don’t think I ever saw any of the others). Room’s Jacob Tremblay seems to be typecast (as a weird little boy) and hopefully as he grows, he’ll grow into other types of roles. The cooky sidekicks (Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, etc.) were probably the highlight of this film even though the plot line was whole improbable (a young boy accidentally triggers the return of the Predators to Earth and only a rag-tag, weirdo bunch of ex-soldiers can save humanity). Trevante Rhodes was also great…glad to see his come up after Moonlight (which was super dope). Currently streaming on HBO Now.
