So I was talking to my Dad late last year…

Dad: I was watching a pretty good movie the other day…I think its an older movie…Billionaire Boys Club…It was pretty good…You should watch it.

Me: Oh no, that’s not old, it came out this year.

Dad: (dumbfounded) How come I never heard about it?

Me: No one heard about it…It only make like less than $100 opening weekend…It came out in the wake of Kevin Spacey allegations…

So that got us talking about “boycotting” movies that certain accused (and convicted) folks/wrongdoers are in. I’m all for wrongdoers suffering the consequences (economic or otherwise) of their actions, but I’m conflicted because a film is not made by one person alone…tens and hundreds of individuals work on a project. And when you boycott, it doesn’t just affect the wrongdoer, it effects everyone involved…that might have been their best work ever and it’ll never get its just due. IJS…something to think about…is there another way???
