Hands down, this might be one of the best zombie flicks I’ve ever seen. Very well-done and highly produced. This South Korean film shows passengers of a train from Seoul to Busan trying to survive amid a zombie virus outbreak. “Train to Busan” isn’t your normal, cheesy, fake-looking zombie flick, this was top notch with great acting and even some really good lessons to be learned about parenthood/fatherhood, sacrifice and class issues.
Gong Yoo plays a self-absorbed father who comes around while trying to save his daughter from the zombie world surrounding them. His daughter is played by Su-an Kim and she does a really good job. Dong-seok Ma (Don Lee) plays a badass fellow passenger and it was cool seeing Woo-sik Choi (of “Parasite”) fame in here as well (he’s been popping up in a lot of movies I’ve been watching recently, like “Okja”).
I highly recommend this drama-filled and action-packed zombie thriller. Currently streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
