This hilarious mockumentary (in the same vein as “Best in Show” also hilarious) offers a fresh take on the vampire story following vampire roommates as they navigate modern day mundane situations like paying rent, splitting household chores and being out on the social scene while still trying to blend in in New Zealand. There are also newbie vampires and werewolves too! The brainchild of Taika Waititi (“Jojo Rabbit”), this movie had me laughing all the way through. The comedic timing of Waititi, Jemaine Clement and Jonny Brugh was great and the ensemble cast was superb. It was shot with a more low-budget, indie feel and it definitely made the film even better…it set the mood. If you’re looking for something fun and light, I highly recommend this one. Currently streaming on Canopy and available to rent on Amazon Prime Video.
