It begins with absence and desire. It begins with blood and fear. It begins with A Discovery of Witches.
Vampires…Witches…Demons…OH MY!
Honestly, I was a little disappointed by this one. I absolutely love Matthew Goode (and after watching The Wine Show, I want him AND Matthew Rhys to be my bestie LOL) because he does exceptional work (have you seen him in that Agatha Christie mini series?!)…well, for the most part (discounting for Chasing Liberty LOL).
But this was missing something for me…or trying too hard, can’t quite place it. I felt like it was trying to be “Twilight for adults” or something. And I’ve never been sold on Teresa Palmer…maybe the fact that she was the lead was part of the problem for me…she’s just so flat and bland. Even Matthew’s monologue/intro to the show started to annoy me…but Owen Teale was great as usual (he is so good at playing the bad guy). Even though it was underwhelming, I made it all the way through the season somehow…don’t recommend you doing the same LOL. Currently streaming on Sundance Now (I got an account just to watch this show…)…and maybe showing on AMC, I believe (but don’t hold me to that LOL).
